Reverberation Measurement: Project and Handover Checklist
By Thermofriz Team · Updated 25 October 2026
Prepare room reverberation testing through agreed conditions, positions, frequency reporting and a documented acceptance method.
Agree what will be tested
Identify the room, intended use and acceptance criteria before installing treatment. Record whether the target applies to an occupied, furnished or unoccupied condition. Different room states can produce different results. Confirm the appropriate standard or project method with the acoustic professional and include the requirement in the scope and programme.
Prepare representative test conditions
Coordinate access and control avoidable interruptions during measurement. Record furniture, curtains, movable partitions, doors and services operation. The tester should select source and receiver positions and assess the validity of the decay measurements. A phone application used informally is not a substitute for a documented professional acceptance test.
Report findings in a useful form
Keep frequency-band results, relevant averages, test conditions and room identification together. Compare the results with the agreed targets rather than a generic ideal value. If an area fails, investigate coverage, layout and the actual installed assembly before selecting further work. Retain the baseline, as-built and final records for future changes to the room.
